Deep Coiled Tubing Unit

Calfrac’s trailer mounted deep well coil units come complete with separate crane trucks for conventional coil workovers.  The separate crane truck allows for complete versatility when rigging-up to a well.  Height, position or placement of the wellhead can be easily adapted to with this configuration.  The ram style BOP’s are located at the rear end of the crane truck, and hydraulically slide out for placement on the wellhead.  The accumulator skid is mounted on the deck of the crane truck and maintains connection to the BOP’s.  The skid is powered by the crane truck engine, and stays positioned on the truck for Class 1 and 2 wells.

The skid is placed 25 meters away for Class 3 wells, and a remote power pack is utilized for hydraulics.  This BOP configuration exceeds all present regulations for coiled tubing well control.  The trailer portion of the unit consists of the control cabin, work reel, injector, and control hose reels.  The control cabin is electric over hydraulic controlled, with all hydraulic functions positioned at the rear of the trailer deck.  All high-pressure valves are remotely actuated from inside the cabin with LED position indicators.  All hydraulic pressure gauges are LED readout with alarm indication.  The unit has a complete data acquisition and real-time coil fatigue monitoring software package (Orion/Cerberus software).  Due to the versatility of the units multiple applications may be performed such as cleanouts, stimulations, drilling, fishing, or cementing.
